Lake Chelan

At the last minute, two girlfriends and I decided to escape life here in Bellevue and take the kids over to Lake Chelan. We loaded up 3 cars (and I mean LOADED) and caravan'd over to Chelan for 4 days and had the BEST time! It was just as hot over there as it was here but at least there was air conditioning and the kids beat the heat by staying in the pool for 6+ hours everyday.
Ragen was the only boy so he was dubbed "man of the house" and there was only one or two occasions where we had to tone the 5 girls down to be sure that the boy was included :) All the kids got along great (for being together 24/7) and the moms definitely enjoyed our girl time.

We stayed at at fabulous spot called The Lakehouse which is across the street from Don Morse Park so we had easy access to the lake, putt putt golf, go-carts and more. However, our kids loved the pool and splash zone so much, that we just stayed around the resort. It was so hard to get our water rats out of the pool, that we just brought all our dinner stuff down everynight and cooked dinner at the outdoor kitchen at the pool.

This will for sure be an annual moms & kids trip however we learned a few things for next year...make sure the navigation systems in the car are up-to-date and even though we tried to combine grocery list and not overlap, we still packed WAY too much food so we'll need to fine-tune that process. Liz & Vanessa - another fabulous trip and I look forward to our next!

We rented a boat one day and headed out on the lake. Josie, Reese & Ragen inner-tubing.

We had smores by the pool everynight and I cracked up when Ragen's caught fire and he exclaimed that this was his favorite was to eat smores. It's always been my favorite way too because I'm too impatient to wait (the camping group can confirm!)

We were lucky to escape with all 12 eyebrows in tact

On our last night after the kiddos were tucked in, we settled out on the deck with some skinnys to watch an amazing lightning storm. We actually watched a lightning strike hit the mountainside and watched this fire start. It was incredible!!
