It's starting...

As we were playing upstairs as a family tonight before Maggie went to bed, Ragen ran right into Jeremy's legs. Ragen burst out laughing saying "Daddy - I ran into your wiener!!" Both Jeremy and I cracked up! We don't call it a wiener in our family but rather a pee-pee. He told us that kids at school call it a wiener. I guess it's starting...

Hiatus

Oops! I accidentally took a major hiatus from Blogger. I love checking on my friend's blogs and I enjoy updating mine but as days turned into weeks, I just got so busy. Now it seems a little overwhelming to try and catch you up so I'll give you the brief update...

My brother Mark visited over President's Weekend and brought his girlfriend Melissa who we hadn't met yet. It was fun to have a Seattle newbie here because we did lots of fun Seattle touristy stuff that we never do. The kids loved having Uncle Mark here and did their best to show off for him over the 4 days he was here. It was really wonderful to see Mark so happy.

We visited the Children's Museum in Seattle where they had a Curious George exhibit. We also had lunch at the Tennis Club to show Melissa where we spent our summers growing up. For Valentine's day, Jeremy & I and Mark & Melissa spent a romantic (OK, not so romantic) night at Daniel's getting to really talk without kids' interruptions. We visited Pike Place Market which made me realize that I really should go there more often!

The day Mark left, the kids and I packed up and headed over Steven's Pass to Plain, WA. My friend Kelley's parents have a wonderful log cabin there so Kell & I took all 4 of our kids. Talk about best of times & worst of times...It was a fun get-away and the kids loved having some snow to play in. Kelley and I had a great time catching up and sharing wine once the kids were in bed. Her oldest son Davis and Ragen are about 3 months apart and they fought like crazy! These two pushed each other's buttons like nothing I've ever seen!

The cabin is about 15 minutes from Leavenworth so we took the kids into town to look around. We also played in the snow and did some warm up time in the hot tub. The highlight for the kids (me too maybe?) was the sleigh ride we took at the Mountain Springs Lodge. We had told them all day we were taking the ride but Maggie must not have understood what this meant. When we showed up, she took one look at the horse and poor Mags stopped dead in her tracks! But by the end of it, she was yelling for Cherry to go faster and even got to hold the horse's reigns. A big thank you to Kelley for having us over there - despite 4 loud kids, we really did have a GREAT time!
